I would highly recommend Dave and Brian.I had my boiler for last 16 years and it was on its last legs. We decided to... change the system and to have new Bosch Combi boiler installed. It was my pleasure to deal with Dave from the start to the the finish, all meetings arranged in advanced and he was always on time. As all of us, I asked some other installers to review and give us a quote for the work. We decided to go with Dave as he was trying to solve the problem and not create head ache (like the most of the installers do as usual practice :) ). Eventually Dave moved New boiler from the kitchen cabinet to the attic, that gave us extra space in kitchen cabinet and in hot press (as cylinder was gone too). My previous boiler of 16 years broke down in Nov '22 and in a panic sought quotes from multiple places for replacement.... The quotes I got back were ridiculous, ranging from €3.5K to €6k. On a Saturday evening I came across General Gas and emailed them for a quote. Within minutes David got back to me. I requested a quote to move from a system boiler to a combi boiler and he undercut all the previous quotes which was for a straightforward boiler replacement. He recommended the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 25i, the lead in time increased as it was a 2 day job but at that point I had no heating or hot water for a week so decided to stick it out (25 days in total during the coldest days of the year!!). So glad I did - instant hot water at the turn of a tap, no longer having to set timer for a morning shower and got rid of water tanks and the dreaded pump (apartment owners know 😡 !!!) - great system. Gas bills now less than a year ago even with all the increases. Highly recommend General Gas for competitiveness and quality - the price on website is the price you pay unlike many of their competitors. Great value great service.read more

Look no further, you’ve found all you need. David was exceptional in recommending the right boiler for our property,... and installed everything including the hive system in parallel. However, wait until you read this.....two years after installation, last night (the coldest night of the year so far), our boiler wouldn't switch on. I e mailed Dave quite late, on a Sunday evening, hoping/praying that I might hear back during the week. I heard back within minutes...and via e mail and sending photos of boiler settings and the hot press, he could deduce it was a circulation problem and an issue with some valves (I think that's what they are called!) in our hot press that were there since we moved over a decade ago. He explained, and sent me videos, showing how to switch on the heat/water manually via switches on the valves until he could come to replace them. All worked perfectly. Would highly recommend David based on his advice, responsiveness, professionalism and enthusiasm to help.read more

They recently replaced my boiler with a new combi unit and removed the old cylinder while removing all the excess... pipework in the house in preperation of removing the hotpress, also fixed a pipe leak on the kitchen sink that was only discovered on the day of the boiler fitting at no cost. Where to start here. Our boiler died and it was an urgent problem as it provides hot water to heating and bathrooms... showers etc. I put through a query on Worcester Bosch Site for a new boiler the same night. Next morning I got a call from Dave. I outlined the problem and he said to me send through some information and he would look at it. I got a call at 2PM same day to say that because we were in dire need they would come around late afternoon and stay into the evening to install a new boiler, rewire the heating control system and get us fixed up. It was a tricky install location, but they arrived on time, great communications, completed the work and were thorough, very neat and tidy, cleaned up after themselves but most importantly has us back up and running one day after the old one conked out. Our Gas boiler gave up the ghost (after 13 years’ service) and left us facing into a cold winter with no central... heating (and no hot water.) Friends advised us not to waste money by trying to get it fixed - so we decided to get a new boiler installed.We had no contacts in the plumbing profession, and so began the perilous quest to find a plumber who was qualified, economical and available.I must emphasise that we have no connection with General Gas. My wife and I got quotes from three contractors, whom we found on line, and chose General Gas more or less on the basis of price.I was more sceptical than my wife - pointing out that the website looked, to me, like a "One-Man" operation which might be a "Cowboy outfit" - but she pointed out that he was RGI registered and, therefore, had to be properly qualified.Anyway, to cut a long story short, David arrived on the Saturday (to do an assessment) and said he would be able to do the job on the following Tuesday. To my amazement and delight, David and his assistant arrived on time (10 AM) and finished the installation (a Worcester Bosch boiler) by 5 PM.Throughout the procedure, David and his assistant were pleasant and professional, carrying out the work efficiently and effectively (and removing the old boiler.) There was minimal disruption and absolutely no mess.David guarantees his work to be of the highest standard and backs it up with a comprehensive guarantee. He is also qualified to carry out the annual servicing which such boilers require (and I have already booked him to provide such servicing.)My wife and I are completely satisfied with the installation and have no hesitation in recommending General Gas to anyone who requires a boiler installation at a reasonable cost and to professional standards. Very happy with David and the whole process. Its very stressful having to look into such an expensive purchase when... you don't really know too much about these things. David was so helpful when i phoned him and so good at responding to mails when i asked various questions. I was shocked by how bad some other companies are at actually returning phone calls or responding to mails requesting a quote so that was very reassuring. The new boiler has been in place now a month and is working perfectly. David did a little video for me showing me how to work the setting so that's great to have. He also filled in all the form for the grant and was so nice to deal with and he even helped us out with another completely unrelated issue. Overall i am very satisfied and i actually signed up for a google review account just to leave this review.read more

David was very professional in all from quote until completion of job. I would recommend using him for boiler... replacement, he made sure we had best solution for space in kitchen and carried out a clean job. I would recommend you have him quote your jobs.read more

Dave came to install new boiler and new heating controls. Top class job. No hassle made sure all rads were piping hot... before he left. Spent time showing us how to use hive system and new boiler and thermostat. He left no mess. Great job. Thanks a million. Would highly recommend.read more
